Economy

At the start of the game, the economy is simpler;
as the game progresses to the next phase, expenses increase

Coins are needed to train units, construct buildings and pay for upkeep.

Ways to earn coins:
1. Selling resources at retail (slow, but more profitable than direct barter)
2. Transferring coins to a deposit account to earn interest (low yield, but with a large amount, this becomes the main source of income starting in the middle of the game)
3. Direct barter of resources for coins (an increased amount of resources on the map allows for more barter transactions)

Income and upkeep:
- Support units and economic buildings generate coins.
- Military units and military buildings consume coins (maintenance).
- Some units consume food.

The "Coin stats" button (under the top panel) opens a panel with income and expenses per second for every unit category and for buildings. It also shows food stock, gathering, consumption and how long the stock lasts, with and without gathering.

Red values are expenses, green values are income.

Plan your economy by seasons: gather and store food in summer and autumn, because winter and spring bring low rates and grain cannot be gathered.
